Enhanced SMS

New customer services

SMS to notify alarms to customers.

The SoftGuard alarm monitoring integral system, keeps on being up-dated to provide monitoring companies with new services for their customers.

This includes a feature called dispatch of events via mobile-phone text message (SMS) to its customers. It is a widely used tool in many countries in order to carry out automatic notifications and without operator’s intervention.

How does it work?

The SoftGuard Monitoring Module receives an alarm signal. Previously, the customer got already set the desired notification for that particular customer in the Panel/Other tab. This configuration makes it possible for the system to indicate which events must be reported via SMS and which not (they are chosen from a list). Additionally, the customer's mobile-phone number to which messages must be sent is indicated.

When SoftGuard system receives an alarm event (out of the codes selected by the customer), it generates a text message and sends it automatically:

Monitoring company ………. informs:

Event: deactivation

User: Damián González

Zone: Main entrance

Date: 16/01/09

Time: 8:45 am

Call us: 1111-1111

There’s also the possibility to generate different TEMPLATES with personalized text messages for each customer, depending on the alarm event to be reported.

What is necessary?

The SoftGuard module in charge of this task is called: SG SMS GATEWAY, which works related to the main SG Monitoring.

The only hardware that must be added is a homologated GSM Modem. Its task is sending the text message via mobile-phone to the customer. It will also be necessary to include the SIM CARD of the chosen mobile-phone company in your company.

Economic advantages:

-SAVING: Deriving the notification of events to the automatic SMS system (saving of telephone costs and number of operators). Many companies decide, for instance, that events such as Activations/Deactivations will be notified via SMS, not via phone calls. Other companies also notify their technicians or external installators when there are technical events, for example, low battery.

-INCREASE IN REVENUES: income due to monthly sales can be increased, including the notification of certain events, a PLUS (extra charge) because of the general service or measured according to the number of reported messages.
